Barry Hall - Icon for Our Times
The message seems to be clear, being a thug on the field is a bit naughty but generally OK and a great role model for our children.
"He's great with kids." An interesting defense. There have been serial killers who had families and were great with kids as well, does that justify what they did?
"It's an impulse." So? If you can't control an impulse then why are you on the national stage for all to see these 'impulses' when they occur?
The only time I watch a Sydney Swans match these days to see them get hammered, in terms of score of course.
We live in a country of excuses and populated by weak minded, weak willed people who somehow always manage to find themselves in charge of things. They make excuses, find fault in everything but the real cause and excuse almost any behaviour in search of a few extra dollars and a few minutes of TV face time. The gene pool appears to be getting very shallow in this part of the world.

Labor vs Liberal vs Coalition
Labor versus Liberal (plus the Nationals) as the Coalition.
Recently the lines have been somewhat blurred. The leader of the opposition seems to be a secret Labor supporter, or at least the policies. The ETS Bill is being supported by Turnbull, in opposition to the rest of the party and in reality to support his business mates. The same ones that Labor is after.
Turnbull has to go. He could have been pointing out how Labor is just adding a new and significant tax for the population, instead he ignoring the opportunity for the party becaue like Rudd it is all about him.

Utegate - Just a Stupid Name
How to do the same thing for the federal Leader, dangle something he wanted, a way to get Rudd. They didn't even have to play the line he fell for it hook, line and sinker. He ignored senior advisers because it was what he wanted, a way to get a Rudd.
The Coalition started with a neat way to tie up Swan and ended up with mud sticking to their leader. The e-mail was most likely a plant by Labor or their sympathizers. The planters probably didn't expect to get a huge bite after SA but why not try.
Turnbull may then have snatched defeat from a sure win the in the next election. There is more interest from the media than from the electorate so they might get away with it.
Labor is facing Pensioners that will be getting less money, employers who will be out of business due to new employment laws and colleges that will have to close because they cannot afford the award wages that require pay increases of 150% for staff.
Labor is doing everything wrong for Australia and in the end that will be telling. Turnbull may have thrown the next chance however. It now comes down to how soon Rudd can force an election.

Aboriginal Justice
There are only two solutions, isolation or integration. Anything in between will be a huge waste of resources and effort for the next two hundred years and beyond.
When incompatibilities are so large only radical solutions are appropriate or feasible. There are so many Aboriginals in prisons because they don't respect or acknowledge our laws. How many do gooders does it take to solve the issue? None because it can;t be solved using any of their methods.
Until a more radical approach is adopted we can expect to see high crime rates, full prisons and an aversion to reporting that an Aboriginal is involved in any crime because it is easier to pretend the situation doesn't exist.
Doesn't Oversee Child Safety
Case after case of child abuse, squalid living conditions, deaths and misery. Ever time the excuse is something like "we didn't think it was that bad" or "we don't have enough staff."
The Department is a failure, pure and simple. It doesn't do its job and for every solid worker there seems to be an equal amount or more slackers. The whole Department needs to be shaken up from top to bottom and if necessary new laws and regulations put into place and enforced so that the children are actually protected.
This is a failure by both State and Federal governments to act for the benefit of their constituents.

Irony - Anti BBC Placards in Iran
A few of these are anti-BBC. The irony is that the BBC is generally pro-Islam and anti-Christian. It has had a long history of dhimmi reporting, outright lying and general obfuscation. So why are their placards? Probably a general anti-West thing where the sign holder doesn't realize that he is supporting an ally.
China is pro Iran and generally anti-West, a stance that K Rudd doesn't seem to understand. Just because you speak Chinese doesn't mean that you know or understand them to any depth.
What you are seeing, albeit briefly, is an attempt at democracy that will soon be crushed by the ruling Islamic theocracy. There will be the usual weak protestations from groups like the US and then it will be back to the usual threats to Israel. Those that want to reform the country will quietly vanish never to be heard from again.

Iran, Democracy, Obama
There were some 'elections' in Iran. About the time the polls closed the results were announced, a landslide victory for the incumbent.
Soon after a lot of people realised that the results seemed not only to be inaccurate but similar. It rapidly became apparent that the man with the most votes lost. The Mullahs had made their decision on who was going to win well before the election was held.
The country that most stands for democracy, the USA, has a President who has kept quiet on the whole matter apart from supporting the results.
In other words this is the first President who is openly not standing up for democracy, yes even Carter was not this bad.

Why the ABC Needs to Go
Example: "The White House has released a report which it says shows the harmful effects from global warming are already being felt in the US, with temperatures climbing, rainfall increasing and sea levels rising." The report goes on to say how disasters are being caused by climate change and that they will get worse.
The report in question is the new CSSP report and it is so full of inconsistencies as a small amount of research would demonstrate e.g. Roger Pielke's Blog, one person cited in the report. Here he thoroughly debunks what was written using him as a citation.
There are two issues here. The first is that the ABC never seems to research beyond one small side of any issue and second when the truth comes out they never correct themselves.
The ABC is supposed to be the balanced news service for Australian, paid for by Australians. Instead it has devolved into a club that represents a select range of views with the token opposing opinion. They are now the Fox of the Left in Australia.
The whole Board and all senior level editors and 'journalists' should be sacked and replaced by a group that will truly present both sides of a story.

No More Music for You if you support Islam
Hadith Qudsi 19:5: "The Prophet said that Allah commanded him to destroy all the musical instruments, idols, crosses and all the trappings of ignorance."
The Hadith Qudsi, or holy Hadith, are those in which Muhammad transmits the words of Allah, although those words are not in the Qur'an.
Muhammad also said:
(1) “Allah Mighty and Majestic sent me as a guidance and mercy to believers and commanded me to do away with musical instruments, flutes, strings, crucifixes, and the affair of the pre-Islamic period of ignorance.”In essence according to the writings of Islam (the ones that really matter) there is no singing, or music allowed. This is why for example Cat Stephens (now Yusuf) disowned his music and songs when he converted to Islam.(2) “On the Day of Resurrection, Allah will pour molten lead into the ears of whoever sits listening to a songstress.”
(3) “Song makes hypocrisy grow in the heart as water does herbage.”
(4) “This community will experience the swallowing up of some people by the earth, metamorphosis of some into animals, and being rained upon with stones.” Someone asked, “When will this be, O Messenger of Allah?” and he said, “When songstresses and musical instruments appear and wine is held to be lawful.”
(5) “There will be peoples of my Community who will hold fornication, silk, wine, and musical instruments to be lawful ….” -- 'Umdat al-Salik r40.0
Since he has started singing again one can only assume that Yusuf has decided to ignore these particular teachings.
Is this really a religion that we want to support here in Australia? If so then goodbye Australian Idol. On second thought that is not necessarily a bad thing.
Sample of Labor Education
This is the Labor way and the Education 'Stimulus' as a perfect example of how not to do things.
Start by targeting only Infrastructure. Ensure that no-one can shop around for a good price, add conditions that make it impossible to do what you want, give more to schools that don;t need it and make sure they give you a letter of support by demanding one. This is the Rudd Gillard way.
The examples that are starting to appear are now legion but consider the case of the rushed school hall that requires mothers to go through the boys toilets to get to the swimming pool. Or the school that has to build a second school hall before they can upgrade the classrooms with air-conditioning. Force schools that are closing to build stuff.
Then there are the complaints about prices charged for work by the Govt approved suppliers. Cost blowouts to at least double the local prices ranging to four times the cost in some cases.
Now factor in that none of this work targets better education in schools, only buildings.
The result is a $14.7 B spending spree that does nothing for our education and for a value of at best $7 B but probably closer to $5 B by the time you add up the real value for money.

This Could Not Happen in Australia
A 12-YEAR-OLD girl who was allowed to live with her 15-year-old boyfriend despite her father’s pleas to the local community affairs department is set to become one of the state’s youngest mothers. The girl had shared a bed with the father of the unborn child from the age of 11 after her mother allowed him to move into their home. But although her father, who is separated from the mother, repeatedly pleaded with staff at the Department they did nothing about the situation.Police said they were also unable to intervene because both children were under the age of consent. If the boy was 18 police would have immediately begun a criminal investigation.
So to summarize. The Department concerned was OK with a 12 year old girl living with a 15 year old boy in a sexual relationship. That girl is now going to have a baby. They didn't listen to the girl's father, in fact they overrode his wishes.
So far this sounds like a story from any Muslim country where such things are not only allowed but supported.
Next, the police could not intervene until the boy turned 18.
Oops this sounds like it could be in Australia where our laws are backwards.
The case occurred on Dubbo. Do'h.
DOCS - Department of Community Service, the ultimate oxymoron of an agency and one that should be completely swept from top to bottom.

Mum and Dad are Watching over Education
Only a government can give $7B in value for $14B of outlay. It happens because only approved 'mates' are allowed to do the building. When the administration, junkets and plaques are factored in the money dwindles to about half its value. So that $2M hall becomes a $1M hall and so on.
Communists love plaques. They want everyone to see that they had something to do with buildings and structures in general. Red Mother Julia has been like this for most of her life which is why she has to attend all the openings and to make sure that the plaque has her name boldly embossed on its face.
She can then turn up in her government car, smile smugly and wave like the Queen bestowing her benevolence on the masses before racing off to the next photo op.
Little does she know that history will not look kindly on her and many of the plaques will be defaced to show what people really think of such behaviour and wasted resources.
There is still a lot of life and world altering behaviour left in Mum and Dad however and just how badly we will all be affected is yet to be seen.
Sadly one of the results will not be a better Educations system or better education for our children. All they will get in the short term is a shiny new plaque.

Contacting Australian Liberal Senators
Don't bother.
The vast majority do not have a direct contact e-mail. Of these some have online forms to fill in but do not allow any attachments so if you have say a Word document with footnotes you can't send it to them.
That leaves you with hours sitting at the computer screen filling in individual forms, or the costs of printing and sending individual letters or in some cases faxes.
Why in the modern age is it so difficult to contact the people's representative? It is that they are just so far behind in terms of technology? Is it because they want to make it as hard as possible to contact them? Is it because they can't be bothered dealing with the people of Australia?

Obama's History - Not So Good
This is typical of the Liberals. They made the same kind of mistakes attributing all sorts of things to the Communists in the 1960's, also wrong then.

Palestinian Homeland
In 1936, 1947, 2000 and last year when each time they turned it down.
Even the Arabs could have created it between 1948 and 1967, when the West Bank and Gaza were occupied by Jordan and Egypt but they chose not to do so.
They could have created it after 1967, when Israel offered the land to them in return for peace with Israel. They refused the offer.
The Palestinians have 'suffered' because they have tried for six decades to destroy the Jews’ homeland. It's part of their underlying belief system to do this so nothing else matters. No matter what they are offered there cannot be peace, they will not accept a homeland that does not include the removal of Israel. Everything else is just wasted meetings and words to them.

Australia's Economic Recovery
If you ignore the huge debt, the current situation around the rest of the world, and that Australia tends to lag the rest of the world. Then yes Australia is recovering.
The bump in figures, somewhat contrived and possibly manipulated shows a positive bump. This is not a trend and statistics tells us to ignore anomalies. Rudd will want to ride this bump to a new election but reality will hit well before that.
Housing, unemployment and other factors have a long way to go before they hit bottom. China is under increasing pressure and the world's economies continue to contract. Give it another 3-6 months and then let's see where we are.
Obama - Islamic Apologist
On the one hand you have a long history of Israel trying to come up with a settlement where Palestine gets 100% of given areas. In each and every case this offer was rejected. Then on the other hand you have well defined areas of Jewish settlement, as agreed to by the UN and others, that within which Obama is trying to stop any growth by the Jewish populations.
There are also rumours that he wants to give Jerusalem to the Muslims. Prior claim by the Jewish populations well beats Islam on that issue.
All in all a very pro Muslim stance that ignores history altogether. There are only three possible conclusions here. One: Obama is a secret Muslim bent on destroying Israel. Two: He is an Islamic apologist that doesn;t nwo a thing about Islam and history or three: he is an idiot.

Racially Motivated Attacks in Melbourne
The Victorian Government, and by extension the police, has a policy of not upsetting their glorious (failed) experiment in multiculturalism. This means that any incident where racism might be present is suppressed.
How does suppression of the truth help any society in the long term, or even in the short term? It might hurt an ideal but certainly it does not protect those being hurt.
The truth of the attacks, according to those who were being attacked, is that the attackers were black Africans. Given the differences in religions they were probably Muslim Sudanese, a group already known for their violent acts against non-Muslims.
This then would indeed be a racially motivated attack but with a deeper base in religions differences. The chances that this will ever be reported in Victoria? Nil.
