Easter - Christianity Free

It is interesting that as we enter Easter there will be no shows on TV including ABC, about what Easter signifies. ABC is in fact showing a kind of anti-Christian show on one of the days.

What is somewhat ironic is that Universities are starting to give bridging courses in Judea - Christian beliefs and symbols so that students can understand English literature. It turns out that since our society, and in turn our literature, is based on these principles, if a student doesn't have any background or understanding of them then they cannot understand parts of English Lit.

While I am not a Christian myself I do acknowledge that we would not be here if it were not for those principles being engendered in our history and our society. These allow us to analyze, to question, to challenge, to debate and many of these basic intellectual freedoms are denied so many others in our world.

The other irony is that there are many in our society that are pretending to represent religious freedoms and different cultures but this tends to translate to a hatred of Australian and where it came from. This hatred engenders an anti-Israel stance and anti-Christian perspective that challenges all that we have. It is chipping away at our freedoms and it supports the minority over the majority.
