All Police in WA Should Quit

Anyone who has seen the video in the case of Matthew Butcher knows that all of the individuals in the clip were obviously resisting arrest and fighting the police. In most societies this is enough, at the minimum, land you in jail. Instead, in Australia, it means that the poor criminals get a "there, there" pat on the back and the police are left feeling that they are no longer protected by the system.

If the system you are trying to protect is not willing to protect you then why even bother. The whole of the police force should tender their resignations and let the courts do the work for themselves. Just the idea that lawyers would no longer have a job is delicious enough. It is just like the way that our soldiers in places like Afghanistan are being put in danger due to desk sitting idiots back here in Australia and their stupid rules of engagement.

The courts are showing that they care more about those breaking the law than those enforcing them. The judges are judicial system are held to no standards and they can not even be removed by the people they are supposed to be protecting and representing.

Given the current trend and decisions like this one criminals will become bolder and bolder. Those serving will be put into more and more danger and the result will be a police force reluctant to do anything because they will not be protected in any way.

But for the current economy and unemployment problems every active police officer in WA should resign in protest.
