Durban Conference

On the 20-24th of April in Durban there will be a follow-up on the 2001 conference on Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance. This was a UN sponsored event and the whole of the conference was used to promote virulent anti-Israel demonization.

That event, like the one in April has been hijacked and is controlled by the Arabic League. All the key roles and positions come from this group and the US has pulled out. Australia, who attended the first one, is at the time of writing still sitting on the fence. While some may think that Australia will follow the US there are still enough anti-Jewish left-wing crazies to ensure that someone from here attends but that remains to be seen.

The purpose of the upcoming meeting is to f
ocus on implementation of the 2001 resolution, which provided the blue print for the NGO "Durban Strategy." This is the strategy of delegitimizing Israel as "an apartheid regime" through international isolation based on the South African model. This plan is driven by UN-based groups as well as non-governmental organizations (NGOs) like Human Rights Watch, which exploit the funds, slogans and rhetoric of the human rights movement.

On this basis a series of political battles have been fought in the UN and in the media. These include the myth of the Jenin "massacre," the separation barrier, the academic boycott, and the church-based anti-Israel divestment campaign.

All because Israel remains the only non-Muslim thorn-in-the-side country in a Muslim region.

So why would Australia even be considering attending? Easy, Rudd still wants Australia to become a member of the UN Security Council and he wants to ensure his personal acceptance in the UN fold after he leaves office.
