Jim Courier – The New Einstein?

He used to be a tennis player but as a commentator we get to see just how awesome this man, along with Todd Woodbridge, really is.

His supreme intellect became apparent while commenting on the Federer-Nadal final in the Australian Open.

It was amazing how he knew exactly what each player was thinking, what their feelings were, their exact physical condition and level of determination on a point by point basis. The listeners were made privy to when Federer’s spirit had been broken during the second set and even if he would have won that one that it would be Nadal who would really win.

He knew the level of pain and fatigue Nadal was feeling in the fourth set and how he may not fight back if how found himself 3-0 down but knew immediately how he would fight to win the set if he took that game. We learned how Federer could look the same, with the same facial expressions, but be hurting inside and dejected.

Every nuance of both players were an open book to the mind of Courier and the continual stream of dialog from Courier and Woodbridge shown how they had mastered some many disciplines from body ergonomics, to a deep understanding of all aspects of psychology and physiology.

These two must surely be nominated for some kind of Nobel prize, perhaps the peace prize since this no longer has anything to do with peace?
