Taxes and Payments

37.2 per cent of Australia's taxation revenue is derived from indirect taxation, including the GST (value added tax), excise and customs duties, and property taxes. Nearly 50% of your airline ticket is made up of taxes.

Examples of indirect taxes includes goods and services taxes, equalization taxes and others on both locally made and imported goods. Excise duties on petrol and other commodities all add to as part of the indirect tax burden.

So now Rudd is giving everyone money and it has to come from somewhere. There are only two sources now that the surplus is gone: taxes and borrowings. Unless indirect taxes are increased that leaves borrowing, from sources outside of Australia using an vastly deflated currency.
