[Singing] Aussie Bonds, Aussie Bonds
It looks like that iconic underwear manufacturer will have to move offshore and at the same time the lady in charge is being harassed for a huge pay rise before the company started laying off people.
Now, I am against huge salaries for executives, especially for companies that are losing money or whose share price is dropping etc. Perfect case in point is the soon to be ex-head of Telstra. His salary was going up as a mirror image of Telstra's fortunes falling. This and similar examples are easy to find in Australia, particularly in the banking sector where these salaries are now being paid for by tax payer's money.
There should be a tax or a cap or something when the company involved is not making profits.
The Aussie Bonds case, while still a ridiculously large salary, has been misrepresented by our media (say it isn't so!). The lady involved gained her pay rise by being promoted and only taking half of the salary that was being offered. Strange how not one MSM groups reported it this way.
Yet another reason not to trust our media, or just about anyone else's for that matter.
